The IEEE Prime University Student Branch, in cooperation with the Department of EEE, organized an international webinar on October 16th, 2024, titled "Prospects of EEE Students for Pursuing Higher Study in Japan." The event took place on the Zoom platform and was a significant opportunity for students and professionals to gain insights into higher education opportunities in Japan.

The webinar was graced by Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahman, Vice Chancellor (Acting) of Prime University, as the Chief Guest, and Prof. Dr. Engr. Md. Rashidul Hasan, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, as the Special Guest. Dr. Palash Chandra Karmaker, Associate Professor and Head of the EEE Department, chaired the session.

The keynote speakers were Dr. Md. Maruful Islam, who is currently working as a Process Engineer at ASM Japan and a former Post-Doctoral Researcher at Shimane University, Shimane, Japan, alongside with Md. Abdul Halim, a PhD Researcher at Shimane University, Shimane, Japan. They shared their experiences and valuable advice on pursuing higher education in Japan. Both speakers, alumni of Prime University, highlighted the academic and research opportunities available for EEE students in Japan, as well as pathways for scholarships and career prospects.

The event featured a welcome speech by Md. Mostak Ahmed, Associate Professor, Department of EEE, and was moderated by Erona Khatun, Lecturer, Department of EEE. The keynote presentations were followed by an engaging Question-and-Answer session, where participants were able to interact directly with the speakers. The session concluded with a closing speech by Dr. Palash Chandra Karmaker.

The webinar successfully provided participants with in-depth knowledge of academic opportunities in Japan, inspiring EEE students to pursue international research and higher education. The session saw spontaneous participation from both current students and alumni of the Department of EEE at Prime University, who enjoyed the event thoroughly.
