Workshop on Ethical Use of AI and Context-Based Prompt Engineering

The Department of English, Prime University, organized a day-long engaging workshop on “Ethical Use of AI and Context-Based Prompt Engineering in the Global South: Higher Education in Focus” on 10 September 2025 at the University Conference Room. The workshop brought together distinguished faculty members from the Departments of English, Bangla, Law, Business Administration, and Education.

The inaugural session was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Quazi Deen Mohd Khosru, Vice-Chancellor, Prime University, as the Chief Guest. He delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking address, emphasizing the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academia and highlighting the importance of understanding Prompt Engineering as a new and evolving terminology in the digital era.

Among the Special Guests were Professor Dr. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Rakibul Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and Capt. M A Jabbar, BN (Retd.), Registrar, Prime University. The session was chaired by Dr. Md Abdul Awal, Associate Professor & Head, Department of English. The event achieved its success with the leadership and commitment of Md. Adnan Chowdhury, Honorable BoT Member and Adjunct Faculty, Department of English, Prime University. 

The workshop was facilitated by two distinguished resource persons: Professor Dr. Muhammed Shahriar Haque, Professor, Department of English, East West University, and Ms. Farina Haque, Senior Lecturer, BRAC Institute of Languages (BIL), BRAC University. Through interactive presentations and engaging discussions, they explored the ethical dimensions of AI integration in higher education, particularly in the context of the Global South. They also provided practical insights into context-based prompt engineering, equipping faculty members with strategies to incorporate AI responsibly into teaching and research.
